Ever since my teenager days I am a holiday photographer in order to freeze some moments, to preserve some delights in my memory... The Dutch etcher and photographer Wim van der Meij taught me to understand photography as a fascinating way to intensify our seeing and to discover new aspects of our daily life, for example the beauty of the clouds, de wolkenluchten, or the textures and geometrical structures of many things we are surrounded by... Some SC-photographers opened my eyes, too, and enhanced my love and my interest for Great Britain in every respect. My first series can be seen as a little homage to England I love very much.
I know I have to learn much, esp. about the technical skills of photography. I am in particular interested in nature and architecture photographs whereas I would hesitate to took pictures of persons. I like to look at pictures containing some human touch and gentle humour, inspiring deeper thoughts and imaginations and appreciating the little, sometimes neglected things.
My favourite digital camera is my little, decent Canon PowerShot SX 260 HS. Previously I used the little Casio Exilim and Nikon Coolpix S3100.
When I have more time I like to use my heavier Nikon D 3000 with a proper objective.
I prefer the untwiddled shots, but Picasa is sometimes a fine helper to straighten, to crop, to sharpen...the pictures. One of my hobbies is to compose webalbums for myself and for friends -completed by some descriptions and reflections.
