I wish you a restful Sunday

spotted in the exhibition of modern sculptures in the Dominican Church in Münster I visited yesterday.  Nicholas Mukomberanwa, Resting Man, springstone.  The artist "(1940 - 2002) was a Zimbabwean sculptor and art teacher. His work has been exhibited in galleries around the world and he remains one of Zimbabwe's most famous artists."

Cette sculpture a des formes très modernes.
Philine: Je suis d'accord avec vous, Martine. Merci bien!

This is a restful piece, Philine.
Philine: I wonder a bit about the huge hand, but it is not doing anything. Many thanks, Ray!

Powerful work Philine, I like it
Philine: Yes, it is. Many thanks, Chris, and a good day for you. We have an important election day today.

Thank you for leaving the name of the arresting showing as it helps me give this scale. I'm sure that there are many other very talented artists in Zimbabwe but perhaps don't have the opportunity to make their names known. This is a beautiful people of work.
Philine: I am bit stumbling about your last sentence. In our English lesson we learnt to use the word 'people' only if there are more than one person. I wish you a lovely sunday, perhaps on your bike again. We don't know much about Africa. Many thanks, Alan!
Looks rather abstract from this view.
Philine: You are right, I assume there is some western influence on this art. Many thanks, Prof. Wilson!
I really like this Philine. There is something very comforting about it
Philine: I have the same feeling like you. The artist might have had knowledge about western art, he was educated in a Christian mission school. Many thanks, Bill, and a fine Sunday. We have a big election day (Bundestagswahl) today.
The hand's position is very relaxed.
Philine: A fne observation, Mary, many thanks!
This is an interesting sculpture.
Philine: with unusual gestures, many thanks, Brian!

Beatiful but sad sculpture, it reminds me of the sleeping beggars I´ve seen in Athens couple of days ago.
Philine: I understand your imagination. Oh, you have been in Athens! Many thanks, Salima!
