photoblog image Sheep Saturday

Sheep Saturday

Some days ago I received this 3D-holiday postcard from the North-Sea. 'Moin, moin' means 'Good morning' in Frisian. Sorry, my pic is awful, but I like the postcard that now survives standing in a book-shelf.

You have done well, Philine...those 3D images can be difficult to capture.
Philine: Thank for your understanding, Ray!

Well moin moin to you and Sheepy too on this very agreeable lightly autumnal looking morning in Bath
Philine: Moin moin to you, too, here it is also very autumnal and rainy. Many thanks, Chris, and as a hardy, stoic Brit you will be out and about!
Belle idée d'immortaliser cette carte postale ..
Bonne journée
Philine: Merci pour votre bonne humeur, Claudine!

Oh what a delightful reminder of spring and new life. Mum look very proud of her new family and I'm sure will have taken good care of the little one. How lovely for you receive a postcard; so few people send cards these days (umm.. me included sad )
Philine: My friend knows that I love sheep, yes, so few people send postcards these days, it was a nice custom in former time. Many thanks, Alan, and perhaps a good bike ride for you, here it is already rather autumnal.

I'm sure Alan will love it, Philine
Philine: Yes, he called it a "a delightful reminder of spring and new life". My friend Angela knows that I love the sheep. We are often together on trip. Many thanks, Lisl!
The sending of postcards is becoming very rare in this digital age Philine
Philine: Alan mentioned this, too, it is a pity. But some people send pictures by their smartphone. Many thanks, Bill, and good wishes to Angela!
They do say that the Friesian dialect is very similar to the dialect of Newcastle.
Philine: This is interesting. The Frisian belongs to the indo-european languages, too. Many thanks, Prof. Wilson!

Its a pity that so many people don´t send postcards anymore. Its allways a suprise to find such a small gift in the postbox! I can imagine that you was happy to recieve it, Philine. Such a lovely couple!
