Bitte, bedienen Sie sich!

Please serve to your self! These German words were some of the first ones my Afghan student learnt, he likes to use them.

Spotted in a shop in Aachen/ Aix-la-Chapelle - Ayush showed us the 'Printen' bisquits this town is famous for. Now the shops are full of sweets and treats again. Ginnie and Astrid will enjoy them this week.

I hope to get also some sweets from St. Nicholas whose feast is today celebrated in our country - for all the little and big well-behaved children.

Please, excuse my lacks of comments today, I'll be in Cologne today visiting some old churches. Perhaps I'll meet St. Nicholas in person.

Vielen dank, Philine, for reminding me of Aachen and the printen. i remember that map from the Rathaus and of course, the several varieties of the printen. i applaud your language teaching initiatives. hope your pupils make rapid progress.
We'll have our eyes out for this, Philine, while we are there on Saturday! Definitely.

Gisteravond hebben we met ze allen een Sinterklaas feesje meegemaakt. Zo leren de kleinkinderen ook nog iets van hun grootmoeders Nederlandsche cultuur.
I see something made with ginger. Yum!
They look delicious...
