A lovely sunday-out to the old town of Hattingen/Ruhr

"The Bügeleisenhaus (Flat Iron House, built in 1611, on the right ) borrows its name from its unique form and is certainly a very singular half-timbered house. Today it contains the local heritage society museum."

Sorry, I'll take now a longer break from SC.

I think there are many buildings around the world that mention flat iron in their name. I do like the timberwork on this one. I especially like the image bottom left with the curving path and the beautiful buildings.
Philine: Yes, I know, in New York for example. I like also the row of flower pots along the curving path of the street. Many thanks, Alan!
Your half timbered houses are a constant delight Philine.

Enjoy your break, but don't be gone too long smile
Philine: You saw Soest, and there are some more half- timbered towns in this part of Germany. I need some break, for I have to be very busy with some issues after Tom's death. If you were in my near, I would spend you lots of books for your book sale, Tom owned many English-American books. Thank you very much, Bill!

A lovely old city, with its narrow streets, very charming!
And all the best for your break, Philine, I hope that you have lots of friends among you, who can give you a hand, when needed...
I see where it gets its name from! Have a nice break!
This architecture is always so enjoyable for me to see!
Take it easy, Philine - rejoin us when you're ready... I understand you had a death in your family - I'm so very sorry for your loss.

I love this kind of architecture, Philine. Wonderful collage. Please take your time to settle things and we will see you back.
A flat-iron half-timbered house has got to be one of a kind, Philine! Please now take your time to "heal thyself" before coming back to us.
De très belles maisons , bonne pause et donc bon repos Philine
