How extraordinary it seems to me, Philine. Is this a common depiction oh immaculate conception?
Philine: No, this is an uncommon depiction, Ray, many thanks!
I've never seen this before Philine, don't quite know what to say...
Philine: According to Christian theology she conceived Jesus through the Holy Spirit while still a virgin. This is a sort of myth we find also in other cultures. Many thanks, Frank!
New information for me!

Good heavens!
Philine: You are right, many thanks, Chris!
I've never seen or heard of such an Annunciation in my life, Philine. How very interesting.
Philine: It is an uncommon depiction of the annunciation, but an old theological question (not for us Protestants) how Virgin Mary got/received her baby Jesus without any sexual contact. Heel bedankt, Ginnie!

Thank you for the write up, Philine. Little di I know of these details which I see. I am always very impressed with the work of the sculptor in scenes like these.
This is just beautiful.

This is a new one on me Philine. I wonder how the idea came about

Merci beaucoup, Claudien!

That is very unusual Philine.

Is this why some wear ear plugs at night - the mind boggles !
Philine: Haha - according to Christian theology St. Mary conceived Jesus through the Holy Spirit while still a virgin. This is a sort of myth we find also in other cultures to emphasize special, extraordinary persons. Many thanks, Martin!
